The Toledo African American Male Wellness Walk
AUGUST 15, 2015 | 7:00 AM
Every year African American Men die prematurely of the top 5 preventable diseases.
Saturday, August 16, 2014 marks the Annual African American Male Wellness Walk (AAMWW) Initiative at The African American Legacy Project in Toledo, Ohio. This year’s theme is “Save a Life.” The Walk Initiative is a statewide initiative that reaches over 10,000 men, women, and children.
We hope you will be able to take part in this year’s wellness initiative and experience firsthand where over a thousand men, women, and children access free health screenings and healthcare information the day of the event at the vendor Pavilion. The statewide Walk Initiative has made a difference and has saved hundreds of lives due to awareness, screening, prevention, and yearly follow-ups. Over the past 10 years, our sponsors, vendors, and volunteers take pride supporting our year round cause.
In order to meet our mission and provide awareness in our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for financial and in-kind support. Without the assistance of community minded individuals like you, we wouldn’t be able to serve those in our community each year who are at the greatest risk of premature death from preventable diseases.
We are looking to greatly expand these services for the residents of our city and Lucas County.
We ask that you make a commitment to support our annual appeal by making a financial contribution. Your generosity will make a difference in our community by allowing us to continue our work of creating greater health awareness and prevention. The walk is an inclusive initiative for ALL.
As a sponsor, your name will be placed on all materials and banners that publicize the event and announced verbally at the event itself. I have enclosed the sponsorship form for you to complete and return.
Remember, every donation makes a difference, regardless of size.
Thank you very much in advance for your support!!
